Also while we have fewer rivers and rainfall we also have far lower nutrients in our soil anyway. Australia is an "old" continent (or island). With little volcanic activity our soils are impoverished. Pick up a hand full of dirt in NZ, one of the youngest countries on earth, and you'll soon see the difference. So lovely you'd almost eat the stuff....
