Data valid as at 00:00 GMT August 18th 2022.

19,745 new cases for Australia and 133 deaths so the CMR is 0.133% (é).

NZ reported 4,697 cases and 14 deaths for a CMR of 0.150% (-).

The UK reported 39,961 cases and 931 deaths this week for a CMR of 0.797% (é).

138,808 new cases in the USA yesterday and 866 deaths sees CMR at 1.119 (ê).

Other notable points:
Global cases pass 598M;
Japan passes 16M cases;
Russia passes 19M cases;

No countries recorded a new high; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day.

No countries move above the 90th percentile for the 10 day period and no countries drop below.

Global case numbers are down again to 5,300,747 this week compared to the 6,213,474 last week and the number of deaths rose slightly from 17,558 last week to 17,595 this week.

It should be noted that the week to week numbers change quite substantially as extra data comes in which is why the number of cases and deaths for the previous week is considerably higher than we reported last week.
