You could get a 4L60E and get it built pretty cheap, if you don't like that first gear in the BTR, plenty available because they're in all the Commodores, there's also trans controllers for them, they stand up behind stock and lightly modified LS1s though so it'd probably be fine if the Falcon isn't some fire breathing monster.
4L80E is a hell of a lot stronger, however rare as rocking horse **** in Australia.
