guy from Bunnings walked in the other day, wanting to know if we could do better on the price. Can i walk up to the Bunnings checkout person and ask them to discount ****? Can you drop the price on this bit of timber??
How about at Woolies - who do I ask to haggle on pricing?

And does anyone at Woolies or Bunning's assist you with your shopping? Offer you advice (for free)? Or bring everything to your car? And yet, a small business somehow has to beg you for your money, then bend over backwards and offer the customer discount as well?
We have a specialist doctor who likes to come in and demand discount on a couple of $4.00 flower pots. Every time kicks up a stink about being a loyal customer and that he should get special discount. This idiot also told my boss, who has over 40 years' experience, that you could learn everything there is to know about gardening in 2 weeks.
Thing is, how would he like it if one of his patients asked him to discount his services? Sure as hell he wouldn't entertain the thought. He took the time to learn his trade, and he charges accordingly.
Likewise, my colleagues and I have done the same. The difference being we are not getting rich off selling pot plants to doctors.
