Most movies are mixed for 5.1 and up. Those systems have a dedicated centre for dialogue, but even then, you have to adjust the mix to bring its level up. That explains it, I’ve just rewatched breaking bad on blu ray, whole scenes of whisper talking that I can’t hear, cut to high energy action= ear drums blown out.
