The weight of the engine and transmission is carried by the subframe which in turn hangs from the unibody which
then sits on the strut bearings you can see under the bonnet.

The subframe therefore is not necessarily designed to take the full weight of the car.

The vehicle depicted in reference 9 of the Haynes manual
is not a Mondeo.. It's a generic cut and paste.

Maybe it depends on the particular vehicle, but I wouldn't risk it on the mondeo.

As for the brake bleed nipples I can only suggest taking another look. If they're not there I guess there wouldn't have any brakes either .
