Problem is, everyone on here has differing opinion as to what qualifies as 'valid reason'.

I'm not convinced that buying a new (to you) car would be considered a valid reason. Hence the advice on here to not take the risk.

However, if the individual wants to take that punt, that's up to them. And chances are, it would be unlikely that they would even be pulled over. But if they were....the determination of a 'valid reason' would be up to the discretion of the police officer pulling you over.
