We always said a toolmaker was a boilermaker with his head kicked in, and an engineer was a toolmaker with his head kicked in!...lol
I have worked with a lot of engineers, probably more than most boilermaker/welders because I travelled around quite a bit, I was a journeyman, and some of the designs we had to figure out how to weld were atrocious, and of course the design and structural engineers were in Sydney not on site, the poor site engineer, usually straight out of UNSW decides to cut their teeth in the middle of the NT, but we guided them well, especially to the wet mess
