Default Re: Modding the xr6 indicators to led

I would say the factory Indicators would have to remain connected to be legal, as ADR's stipulate that all factory fitted lights must be in working order*. The only exception to that rule is if you retro fit a spoiler with a high mount stop light (HMSL), in which case the HMSL in the back window has to be disconnected (remove the bulb) as the one in the spoiler becomes the one required to be the only working. I was only made aware of the latter years ago when I was working for the opposition on their HSV production team.

*I have questioned this rule with both NSW RTA and VicRoads in the past as if one LED is out on a HMSL for example, then by the ADR's wording, the car is defective as not all lights are working. Neither could give me a written response only saying along the lines of "if you think its unroadworthy, you can book an inspection". Thanfully the rule is not Policed nonetheless.
