Default Rear DVD Player advise wanted.

I'm looking at getting a rear DVD player system for my wife's MC Mondeo. Not sure which way to go though. We've been using the portable screens that attach to the rear headrests but its a bit messy .
The complete headrest kits I've seen so far only come in a leather look headrest so not really keen on going that way. There's an Alpine system which requires the monitors to be custom fit into the existing headrests in combination with a 6 stack DVD player. Alternatively you can get a roof mounted system. My wife's not keen on that as she's worried the screen will block out the rear view mirror.

Anyone here installed a rear DVD system? Would really appreciate some advise.

Cheers.

at the moment I am also using a portable in the wife's car ,yes it is messy
but if I was doing to mine I would make the screen's fit into the back of the headrest. I don't like the rooftop ones

I bought and had these installed into my FG Xr6
http://www.cadencecaraudio.com.au/st...-usb-pair.html

All i can say is it's the best investment i have made. I also bought some iR Earphones. I put movies onto usb sticks, and it keeps the kids quiet on all my long distance trips. (Newcastle to Sydeny quite freq. to see Mrs Fam)

I bought this kit from JB-HIFI.

Only negative that i've come across is you cannot upgrade the Firmware in the units to play some of the newer formats. Alot of the newer movies are being encoded in H264 codecs which this sytem doesn't recognise.

Thanks for the link.
That system would be perfect if they made them available in cloth material, as our interior is cloth. Unfortunately they only make them in a leather look.

M8, my interior is cloth 2 and i was quite sceptical but once in, it doesn't look that bad and out of place. (i got the black units as my interior is dark)

Go and have a look and ask for them to place the headrest in for you to look at.
I was also looking at Forums sponserd ASL which have a similar unit. Also Ford offer units, which are cloth, but for over $2000, i couldn't justify it.
