I remember a few months back someone on here suggested a real simple way of removing and preventing surface rust on rotors, namely the hubs, but i can't for the life of me remember what it was, who said it, nor find the thread it was posted in.
Anyone remember it?? I've got the week off work and i'm pouring some much needed love and elbow grease into the car.

It might have been me TJ.
Where you get the rust is obviously on the edge of the rotor and in the grooves if you have grooved disks. Product is called Shine On hotplate protector by Hallmark, about $12-$14 at Bunnings this is the original thread http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...late+protector

Sort of hr same subject, we have an offroad car which chews through discs, we grab a stack from the wreakers, soak them in a mixture of 10 to 1 water and molasses for a week they come out 100% rust free, we lathe them smooth, spray on wd40 and they are ready to go simple easy and cheap, a vintage car guy told me about it and I use it all the time,eats iron oxide and nothing else
