Default Found some drag pics to share:)

Goodmorning AFFers, Ive come across some photos of the drags thought I'd share them. I dont think these ones are too old. I know there's heaps more so I'll add to the them when I find them. Sorry about the quality I was bored this morning and done it on my phone. When I get a scanner I'll do them again properly on the computer, but thought they were good enough to share. Please enjoy.

Thanks for sharing, they are some very tough looking coupes. What kind of numbers were they running?

Great pics people, it was always my dream to own a coupe when I was a young fella, I couldn't afford then and now I can't justify the expense

I loved it when you Pirie Lads would come down racing. It was a good day for Ford fans. So many tough Falcs. Got heaps more pics of your GTs from that show at Pirie too.

What year & class was that ?
The best prize money I ever got was $250?(it was the late 80's), some coke ( the drinkin type ) a cap, a bag of stuff & free entry to the next nat's meet @ AIR & that was for winning summer nats street class in 88.

You did better than me, I beat Brenton Steins Cortina in stock eliminator final and got $150 cheque in 1978/9
I also have dozens of old AIR photoes from the '70's, lots from the Ampol series when the yanks bought out their wheelstanders and funny cars.

It was dial ya own Friday night Street meets. The car had to have current rego to run.

I Ran 6 passes that night 10.77-10.88-10.81-10.79-backing off to win 10.91-10.99.

Last run, the final was up against an XC Falcon500, he dialed in at 16.22.
I dialed in at 10.90. OVER 5seconds waiting on the line for the first amber. I was thinking, noway, but i near on blew him off the track by the end, he backed off thinkin i was coming.lol

It felt like i was waiting a week for them bloody lights....

Not doubting you but what year pls ?
I won OUTRIGHT street class in a National meeting 1988 (6/2/88)
Still got the trophy to prove it.
Won a street meet & came in runner up "West End" streetmeet.
Don't remember $ or incentives but figure on BUGGER all plus trophies.

PS : Without bracket racing my efforts were fun but useless epecially in the 1988 Nat's as I was the slowest & ONLY 6 pot. Think I've still got a copy of that edition of "Dragster"?

Thanks for putting them up Phil. The last XB pictured ran 10s all day. One of my favourites at the drags.

Moved house a year ago & recently unpacked these gems. The one on the left was a summer national street winner. The other 2 are just street meet winner & runner up.
