Hi all as the heading says can I fly with a Pacemaker fitted
I had a heart attack last year and this year I was fitted with a pacemaker/defibulator I went to the PA hospital here in Brisbane for a check up and asked the heart specialist if it was safe to fly down to Melbourne and was told it should be alright to me thats not very inspiring or helpful has anyone here been through the pacemaker op and still flown in a plane and before I get the silly answers as in using wings to fly Im talking about flying to Melbourne by QANTAS or Virgin airlines |

Damn. I was going to suggest keeping your fingers together in flight but you've ruined it.
My best mate had one fitted a couple of years ago and he's flown intercity a few times with no ill effect. |

Umm, a heart specialist said it was ok but you'd rather rely on car forum replies !!

Hmmm
Electronic devices being used in a plane. Sorry but you will have to turn it off for the safety of the plane, but you can turn it back on in flight mode once the seat belt light is out.

I heard that for the safety of the other passengers, you’re not supposed to have it on inside the plane so they strap you to the outside of the wing. Just remember to wear something warm if it’s a long flight.
