Default Resale value

Just wondering what you think? My business partner and I have always bought Falcon utes/ cab chassis for our work vehicles. It's now time to update but this time business partner has decided on the top of the line Hilux. It's turbo diesel, 4X4 twin cab, 4 speed auto, hard cover for tray. $62500 on road for a Hilux. Every man and his dog have one in one form or another up here. And typical of a Hilux, it is quite plain in interior and still has DRUM drakes. He wasn't interested in a Ranger because Toyotas are renowned for their resale value (his words). So my question is considering the lack of features in the Toyota, are you paying a higher new price to get a higher resale value?
