Default Whistling sound from the engine?

G'day everyone,

This is not really a thread to solve a problem, because as far as I know it isn't (certainly hasn't been one, nor have we ever been told it is), but I was wondering if anyone would know what it actually is. As far as I used to think it was pretty normal for AUs, but then I haven't experienced many.

Skip, ever since my parents first bought him, has always had a very distinct whistle from the engine. It's particularly noticeable at low speeds and low revs, and not so at cruising speeds. It raises and lowers pitch when revved. Camera microphones exaggerate it too, barely hearing anything other than the whistle.
I'm not actually bothered by it, but I am interested to know what it might be?

Any thoughts?

Cheers
