Default Used Car Value

Amazing what a new model will do to the resale value of the previous model car.
Due to my return to Oz from Germany I am selling my 2011 MC 2.2L TDCi Titanium wagon with only 43000 km and bells and whistles which I purchased 7 months old for EUR 29500. I put it on the websites for 21k, lots of looks but no offers. Now down to EUR 17500! Ford dealer offered 15k and handlers (resellers) offered less than 14k.

Excuses (sorry - reasons) are that:
a) new Mondeo model released in Europe late 2014
b) 2.2L engine is too big for the everyday Heinz to drive around due to the additional fuel usage compared to a 2.0L. Wow I knew the Bavarians were 'frugal' but this was a surprise.
c) the everyday Heinz does not purchase a car in winter - normally springtime for Europe

Rule no. 1 = cars cost money and pleasure cannot be monetized
