Why is it that the road rules dont seem to apply to drivers of dog and tippers? With all the construction going on theres a lot about but red lights seem to mean nothing. I get it that the pay structure is probably similar to that of a porn star where the more loads you take in a day the more you get paid, but some of the risks taken i see on the roads are nuts.

Totally agree. Friday evening is normally the worst for it - changing lanes onto cars on the freeway when there's not enough room, running red lights, and pulling out when it's not clear to do so.... but last Thursday took the cake - had one pull out of a T from a side road, onto an 80km/h rural arterial, in front of me going 1 way, and another car coming the other. I still don't know how I managed to steer down the broken bitumen & gravel shoulder & pull up beside the slowly rolling rear axle of the truck without wrecking a rim or going bush.

And it wasn't like he was still rolling into the T intersection and had speed on to pull around - he'd been stopped for a good 10 seconds or more that I'd seen him, but just thought "F-you, I'm pulling out" and then it was how the F do I wash off 80km/h and avoid this fool.

The only reason I had to go around that way was because the road I normally take was blocked - one of his cohorts also in a tip & dog had splattered a car who couldn't pull up in time to avoid ploughing into the side of the dog trailer after he turned right in front of him.

I bet they're all big & tough in the truck, but when they get home they hand their balls to their wife.....

As an interstate driver I can see that you now know why we refer to them (local drivers) as RTC's................

I can understand being loaded and attempting to stop for an orange light but just running the red because you cannot stop safely, but when i get a green light and take off in my own time to have 3 trucks in convoy come flying through 5 seconds of red light with no f's given thats irresponsible. Im sure the truck drivers will be fine, but someone in a normal car wont fare as well if they dont look both ways 200m up the road and trust the green light.

Must be something to do with surface area, they seem denser - especially an Aussie with one egg on a small.

Plus the best bites are the first and the last couple and they're closer together than a large piece.

First-world problems.

If the word ‘phonetic’ basically means, spelt the way it sounds, why is it that it’s not?

I hear the term "mud carter" thrown around a lot too. And boy, doesn't the UHF light up when one of them is flipped over.

Why is it people can't take responsibility for their mistakes and be decent human beings?

On my way home from the skate practice on Wednesday night, some guy in a lifted Hilux rolled backwards at lights into my car. I realised it was happening and luckily was able to move back a bit, but he still tapped my bumper with his tow bar.

He then got out, denied it, told me it must have been me hitting him because his foot was on the brake, and when I said we needed to exchange details, he said "I'm not giving you nothing, my car isn't damaged".
I took pictures of his car (plastered with his mobile number, and business name), and when I tried taking a picture of him - knowing he'd likely deny he was even there, or knew who was driving, he covered his face, jumped back in the ute and took off.

Within 5 minutes of getting home, I had googled the business name. Found his ABN, searched ASIC, and found his full name as a sole trader and his registered address.

Went to the police on Thursday to report him for failing to exchange details, and they called him, forcing him to exchange details then and there.
It's not worth going to insurers, and it's his word vs mine, no evidence, no witnesses, so I'd get nothing anyway. It was just the principle. He thought he could get one over on me, or brush me off as I was a lone female in the car. If he'd been decent about it, I'd have let it go.
Man up, admit he was distracted or whatever, apologise, and offer a slab of beer or a bottle of whatever, for the boys that fix it for me. That's it. But he wanted to be a jerk, and I can play that game too. Maybe he'll think twice about it next time (I doubt it).

99% of the damage will buff out, and I have plenty of friends in the business who do that stuff for a living that will tidy it up in 20 minutes or so, making it all but invisible. There's a bit of a chip in the plastic, which is what I'm most ****ed off about, but I'll see what my boys can do, and possibly get a workmate who is a retired cop to give him a call about it.

Some people cannot admit they made a mistake - but it's a mistake to let them get away with it. If they learn a hard lesson - next time maybe they will consider a different behaviour. I fully support you taking it to the police - I would do the same thing - just for them to give him a call and disturb his untruthful life.

Why is it that the AFL is going all out to promote and grow the AFLW but channel 7, the home of ‘footy central’ can’t find the space on their 6 stations to broadcast half the games? But reruns of ‘Who’s The Boss’ can get a gig

Why is it that movie makers continue you put sound effects in space? Space has no atmosphere, therefore it is silent. Everything inside the spaceship yes, everything outside the spaceship no

Why is it that movie makers that use light based weapons ( lasers ) don’t understand that a light based ranged weapon would be releasing its laser rounds at 299,792,458 meters per second ( the speed of light ), way to fast for us to see, the good guys would be dead before they realise the bad guys pulled the trigger, Obi Wan ain’t deflecting that s**t with a lightsaber.

You’ve just washed your car and dried it nicely...

Then you are behind someone on the freeway at 100Kms per hour, who decides to clean their windscreen with washer jets so powerful it also sprays over their roof onto your water spot free duco.

I learnt that trick in the tailgating thread a while back
Why is it every car I've test driven from a dealer has no fuel in it?

I thought you were going to say it bucketed down with rain, which usually happens to me... and then you get on a road near a new estate, where mud-carters have been up & down a million times, and everything gets covered in crap.
