Default New BB/facelifted Falcon in Echuca today.

Yes - seen first hand today being trialed....

2 Sedans Being "driven"

Features included : Front car bra, Rear black stickered. But middle, doors and roof the same as current BA from what I could see.

Plenty of testing happens up in this part of the world, so i'll keep you enlightened on any progress.

This obviously means some rather large changes in front/rear styling. I hear also there are plenty of BA looking mules getting round with new auto transmissions.

I hope they also look at an all alloy I6. Its asking too much for an Alloy V8 as well..... All in the name of weight reduction.

great spotting Philbie. Exciting times ahead. These will become more popular as we get closer to release, so keep the cameras handy.

I'd say though that what you saw was copperhead due end of the year.. If we assume that BB is the all new falcon then we can expect that all sheet metal will be different, not just front and rear.

The BA replacement. Although I doubt BB will be the model code used, it's pretty unusual for a car maker to have double letters as a model code. The only one that I can think of is the CC Lancer.

i was actually hoping it would be a whole new model. meaning a different shell and totally new design. guess theyve skimped again? wont be great competition against Holden since they are going 'all new' in their next model arent they?
and as to what the next model will be called? B anything sounds crap IMO

There will be an all new Falcon due in late 06. The model seen here by Philbie is more than likely the more significant update to the BA..in other words, the BA3. Probably th elast significant update before the all new flacon, Orien.

Perhaps it will be BO, for Bloody Overweight?
BW? Brakes Warped?
BQ? Bodgy Quality?
BD? Broken Diff?
BC? Bad Clutch?
BS? Bloody Slow?

;)

true, but both Holden and Ford do it. Holden VN - VS, Ford EA - EL, Holden VT - VZ Ford AU - whatever.

Thats my point.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. It's going to be hard to improve on the BA. They are a bloody good looking car, whether it's an XT or GT.

Oh, no, if they called it the BS Falcon, we'd never hear the end of it from the Holden guys.

Try hanging out in Alice Springs they all come there for testing in summer,40c plus almost everyday. All the manufacturer's from A to Z. Normally in groups of three with heaps of back-up vehicles. Porsche even had St John ambulance have a paramedic unit follow them everywhere they went and had the nerve to complain when they could'nt keep up.!!!!

I'm a little over the AU/BA cabin/roof shape. Surely they could change it just a little bit?

I'd prefer a flatter less dome look myself... but thats not the in thing these days..

Nah, that stands for Bluedriver. If it is named that, hell, 3FB are well on their way to global domination, having a car named for one of their members.

Same as Ford. You could bolt 2005 BA2 doors onto an 1998 AU1 bodyshell.

Or, with some very minor mods bolt a 2005 BA2 front subassembly (cross-members, suspension, brakes, steering) onto a 1988 EA!

I'm still betting it will be the BC or the BE Falcon.

It won't be BA3, this is more like the EF to EL facelift and then you might get a MkII version around the launch of VE to tide them over until the all new 2006/2007 model comes out.

Calling it BA was a very last minute thing - the original facelift of the AU was going to be the AY - so I'm not sure they thought that far ahead to how many two letter codes in the B range are actually short for something funny, rude or significant.
