Anthony (VX8255) was telling me that there are companies that convert the standard shocks into 90/10's.
These should be more cost effective than buying new ones.

gday wade, try penrith wholesale suspension, they should be able to sort your front shocks out for you.
cheers, justin.

btw, how much pressure are you running in your slicks? looks as if you could do with some more.

How do the 9o/1o shocks handle on the road.

Horribly there for drag use, there is a company that have made a shock you can switch between the 2 by changing a setting.
Fairly pricey too.

SO basically if you punt the car hard on the road dont bother or use them at the strip only. Would the tein adjustable suspension be any benifit over stock.

Tein is a firmer ride designed for circuit track work, 90/10's are right at the other end in ride handling there designed to let the car come up in the front as easily as possible, on the road they almost feel like no shock.
Having soft springs is the back helps the launch heaps also, your car squats of the line there by not unloading on to the tyres of the start line.

I thought they might be able to be softened up a fair bit.

On the rear are caltrac traction bars, installing them you have to solid mount them (ie: remove the rubber pads above and below the leaves) therefore it raises the car by about 10-15mm and also on launching when the tyres load up the bars they direct the energy forward and down onto the top of the spring which increases the spring rate and direscts energy back down onto the rear tyres, on launching its not spinning the tyres but as soon as I get going and into 2nd its squirming like a wet mop (Chris discription lol) as if its hazing the tyres through both gears.
It feels alot smoother and solid in the rear with the bars, holds both wheels down well and no wheel hop but the increase in spring rate could be a bit detrimental to weight transfer ? as Chris said is very important for these front heavy cars and of corse 90/10's will help alot also and will be coming very soon.
The main issue Im having is the hazing of the tyres through 1st and 2nd was doing it the other week without the caltracs and no different on friday with them.

gday wade, im having similar problems with the yellow ute at the moment.
the rear spring rate should be around 200lbs (yours, if standard, will be much higher).
what preload are yoy running?

cheers, justin.
