Default Disc Brakes for Rear

is it possible to place my front brakes on the rear of my 79 Escort? I'm about to buy new big brakes from Ebay and fit them to the front and was wanting to transfer my original fronts to the rear. Good idea?

Thanks guys

Yeah i've seen hoppers stoppers before but they're really pricey. i figured i would do most of the work my self and save 80bucks an hourJust thought someone on the forums would know what to do with converting from drum to disc brakes.

You can fit Sierra rear discs but getting them out from the UK is costly. The rally boys use various combinations of Alfa, Suzuki, or Pug disc/calipers etc....basically whatever works.
This is just my opinion, but I don't think you need rear disc brakes on an Escort (assuming thats what you are doing). If you wack some big discs on the front, they should be able to pull up the 950 or so kgs with relative ease. My RS2000 has standard brakes and handles 130 at the fly. I wouldn't even consider a rear disc brake conversion unless I was racing it and most entry level sprint competitions (which all most people are interested in) only lasts a few laps anyway. On the streets, the are just not necessary....Hell, my V8 Capri is still running rear drums.
