the xy gtho phase 111 is worth plenty of hard earned dollars now! some would say to much! just looking into my crystal ball to find out which model ford will be worth the big bucks in 30-40 years? with so many model available from fpv will there be one stand out model. :lookedat:

Nope there will not be, the muscle cars of today will be the Datsun 180b of tomorrow, they dont make them like they used to. Todays NEW cars seem to bloody rust around the 10 year mark if not earlier, They do not have the same heritage as they used to...

Here is one to ponder, Ever heard classical and golden oldie music....todays HIP HOP will be the futures Golden Oldies....how funny is that.

40th aniversary GT R-spec
may might not be that special, but a limited amount produced compared to the demand means they will be wanted in the future, and will go up

Most special edition cars today are made in too large numbers to be worth anything.

I think the day of the expensive collector cars from Ford are gone (from the current generation). The 40th Anniversary GT R-Spec MAY be worth a little more, but I am not sure if it will skyrocket like the HOs have.

I reckon low k manual T3's will fetch big prices in the future, low build numbers, factory stroker, last of the windsors...

Any of the T Series, more so the T3's.

I dont think any BA will ever come close, as said above, 40th anni might hold better, but thats about it.

P3's are worth so much because they atleast have a bit of history about them. What can you say about the BA in 30-40 years time?

I think one of the last fully optioned F6 Typhoons with the Australian inline 6 engine and especially the new limited one will be worth a bit in the future. Also mint T3 sedans and GT R spec should do okay.

40th anniv. GTs are today's XC Cobras. Sure, they look good with a splash of warpaint and some extra goodies, but I think their first 25 years of existance will be the same as the XC Cobras'. Little respect from the public, minimal difference in resale compared to "standard" GTs and GTPs

I see the T-Series (T3s in particular) mimicing ESPs. "The last of the Windsors" vs "The last of the Clevelands". Both series were top-range models fitted with the top shelf gear.

The XR6Ts will follow the VLT's destiny of becoming *very* affordable within the next 5-10 years and being the hoon's/siknt's choice of car. I myself have a soft (hard?) spot for these :

Funny enough I think the EB and EL GTs will start going up next. They are rare and unique. or at least im not fortunate enough to see them around where I live. I see a few T series. and plenty of FPVs.

Ive been looking at the prices for EL XR8s. what are your thoughts on them?

+1 for t3's and the last of the aussie engined f6's for collectables.

The xr6t is well on it's way to being a cult car,but I don't think that equals a great investment.

These are from a list made a little while back, i agree with the T series, but to really guess exactly is hard, for what us oldies see ( the old school ) is probably not what the new breed of collector will see as they will see other cars such as the new limited edition phoon.

One thing most could agree on is if it is limited, ( if we currently see value or not ) it has a high chance of being in the mix.

One valuable lesson i learnt Today is even with a Limited car only a few years old ( from initial inquiries ) i can not get some parts for it allready which has made me question the spare parts supposodley available for cars for a set period of time, and in that if i say took out a door , had a bingle in the front etc even after 2 years i can not hope to return it back to factory with genuine parts ( or even hope to find fake parts ).

So what do you do wrap it up in the shed, because you know down the road in original condition it has to move north ( by how far you don't know ) but you know if you drive it, have some punce rip the badges smash into it you can never replace it.

Or do you drive it and hope for the best ?

For me it's drive it and enjoy it, and let the gods work it's fate out, one day when i sell it, if it's worth a few bucks well n good but for me it was bought to drive and thats what it will do.

A big tip for those players buying these limited release cars, is to get into spare parts and buy the mats, badges etc etc as soon as you can and put them away, so if your car needs a repair even 2 years down the road you will have the parts.

How many BA GT GTPs were made 3000 or so. Not that many more than XW GTs.

As far as I know, the only old school muscle cars made in limited production runs are the Phase 1, 2 and 3 plus the Cobra. (RPO83 was not an official release). The main GT variants Ford made as many as they could sell as they do with todays GT. How many current GT's will still be around in 30 years time?? Will they go up in value?? A chance if the people buying them now are young petrolheads who will have a mid-life crisis and want their car back 30 years from now.

I reckon the sleeper in the pack is the ED XR8 Sprint and they are reasonably cheap at the moment. If I had the bucks and somewhere to put it I'd get one.

Others to watch are the AU T3, AUIII XR8 Pursuit 250 and the 40th Anniversary GT. All made in limited numbers.

EB and EL GT's are on the move as people are priced out of older GT's. I'm not sure if these were made as a limited numbers production run or not.

After speaking with ford today these fears are indeed true, the only part i have been able to secure is the bulge sticker ( for an arm and leg ), so i would definatley say if you have one of these rides ( DevilR / Enforcer ) look after it, will still drive it but as before if you buy one of these limited fords ensure you tuck a few spares away from the start.

Once again i heard the Cobra is on the way so those buyers should cover their bases

Any GT made between 1967 to 1976.. sorry but IMO they old ones will still be the only decent collectables in years to come.
The modern crop have no race history or herritage like the early ones which is mainly why they're so valuable...
