Looks like the push button AM radio I had in my 1963 Falcon, but that was a veeerry long time ago so I can't be sure. So long ago I replaced it with an 8 track tape combo. Not NSW radio stations either as I recall, possibly whatever State/Territory used the 5__ prefix.

5 CL KA AD etc are Adelaide Radio Stations It's interesting that it only has the SA stations though - I don't think they made Fords here in SA (or Fords specifically for any given States either)

Its funny seeing a radio that goes by station callsign instead of its actual frequency!
Takes the guesswork out of what station its on when you've got those stations that are close together  As for what type of Ford its from, sorry I can't help, but I'm guessing something from the 60's.

If it was from the first Falcons they would have smaller bullet shaped knobs even in white, again I think. Could it be from a Cortina? |

I would guess perhaps a cortina or some other non falcon model?

It's definately not from an XT as these had a convex front panel. I have one in my Ute. After having a look at the brochure scans it's not from an XP either. My guess would be a pre aussie Fairlaine or a Galaxie. The fact that it uses transistors would tend to make it 1960s rather than 1950s.

Falcon Radio's were a lot "wider" than this one , also ends of the facia were "tapered" I had an XK which was almost identicle through to XP
I'd say "very" early Cortina or even earlier still , Zephyr/Consoul ,

Definitely early 60s - but not from a Falcon as far as I can recall - the larger letters represent SA radio stations while the smaller letters are for NSW stations. Very odd but very IN TER ESTING!

I seem to remember something similar in my dads ZA Fairlane or maybe his XY Ute but I would say it comes from around that era, very cool though.

Yes, definately 60's.
Not Falcon. As others have said possibly Cortina, Zephyr, Consul. Maybe Compact Fairlane, Galaxie. (Very slim) Maybe a '59/'60 Broadmedows assembled Tank Fairlane?

Not Compact Fairlane, their radio doesn't have a face plate as it's built into the dash, also the dial area has rounded ends.
I reckon XW/XY from the shape of the knobs. |

I would be guessing Mainline or Customline... I don't think I have seen this in any Falcon before, but then I don't live in Adelade so I can not be 100% sure.
To me it just Wreaks 50's American.

I think AWA made these for Ford in those days . 5AD (started in 1930) is now MIX 102.3
