Default Focus Head Unit Code

Hi all,

My mate has a Ford Focus 2003 Model. His battery went flat and after a replacement his head unit is now requesting a security code. Does anyone know the best way to get this, is it simply a matter of checking the back of the head unit?

Thanks

He should
(a) check the card that would have been placed in his owners manual when he bought it
(b) go to a Ford Dealer and prove ownership of the car, and they can look it up on their system to find out the code. They may charge for this.

The reason it is not on the back of the unit is that if someone knocks off the radio, they can't just read the code to restart the head unit. That's the whole point of the exercise

Melbzetec said it all. Check owners manual - failing that off to Ford for a free security code with proof of ownership. Just take Rego form and Photo ID.

Thanks guys, he is heading down to Ford tomorrow.

Funny thing is that my cousin has a hyundai excel and the dealer instructed her to look at the back of the head unit. Now that i think of it, it doesnt make much sense does it?

Then again....who wants to knock off a Hyundai radio?

(then again, who wants to knock off a Focus radio?) :

Dealer would have asked him to look at the serial number so he could be prepared to give it the the Dealer to save time?
