Default ABS and T/C Intermittent Problem

I've got problems with both my ABS and T/C.

Since last week they have both stopped working on and off - sometimes at the same time, sometimes at different times.

It seems to generally (but not always) happen after rain. I might drive for an hour or two with one or the other of the idiot lights on, then I park the car overnight and when I start it the nexrt morning both ABS and T/C are fine. Later in the day either or both lights are back on.

Any ideas? Should I be taking the car to a mechanic or an auto electrician?

Get a scan tool plugged into it and see what it tells you. If there are no error codes, I'd be looking for a loose fuse or earth connection somewhere.

Thank's JC,

I leave this stuff to people who know what they are doing.

I take it an auto electrician is the person I should go to?

I would recommend you clean the abs sensors on your wheels. They sometimes get dirty and set the light off.

Checked your tyre pressures or had new tyres fitted recently? After eliminating a tyre issue, it appears to be a wheel speed sensor issue.

It could be anything
Short or broken circuit
Dirty sensor
Faulty pump or solenoid
Just find a mechanic with a scan tool (most have them), the computer will have logged a code that tells you exactly why it was disabled.
