Default Sydney Ford dealers MIA in newspaper ads

A workmate and I are currently considering purchasing new XR6 turbos. I have gone over the papers from Friday onward - SMH and Telegraph and can hardly find an ad advertising any year end specials. Meanwhile, Holden, Toyota and Subaru are advertising in force.

Does anyone know of any well priced Turbos (new or perhaps dealer demos) going for a decent price at the moment? So far we have a price from Alto Ford but wondering which other dealers might be competitive.

Given the amount of dollars you are spending it might pay to check with dealers interstate, particularly with the sponsors. For the price of a el cheapo air fare you get to run it in on the drive home !

I agree I read the cars guide in the Herald Sun and am amazed at the lack of advertising from Ford Dealers in Melbourne.

I thought Peter Warren Smithfield was a sponsor but not so looking at the list. There certainly used to be a regular member on here that was a salesman there and maybe still here. I cant remember who he was but someone else will know him and where he has gone. He had a good reputation I think.

I think its because Ford are trying to keep the stock levels down to avoid having a heap of unsold cars once the Orion is launched.

Yes, but where is the Mondeo/Focus/Territory/Fiesta advertising? The only one I can see in the Sydney Morning Herald is for Hail Dented Fords, with a LS Territory on the page. I see more ads on the Cricket.

Here in Newcastle, the local Herald hasn't had any advertising of any ford products for the last 4 weekends (Saturday Paper.) Pretty disappointing really, espeacially when the new Mondeo is here, or is it..........................................

Ford's marketing has been short of mediocre for as long as I can remember. They have a great product and fail to capitalise on it. The only decent ad I remember was the ad they ran when they released the BA and they ruined that by running if for the next 100 years .. I suppose some of the ute ads weren't too bad but on the whole the ads are forgettable ... which is exactly what they shouldn't be !

Good point.

Most of the newspaper ads i've seen recently have been for Territory and Focus.

Fords advertising people are a joke. Between them and the dealers they are destroying the company.

Good Advice, However, here in Newcastle a certain dealer has the Monopoly on all the Ford delearships. It means If i want to do this, i have to travel south to the central coast or furthur to sydney.

Car ads in newpapers have been going downhill for years. I remember the car section being thicker than the job section : Now its barely two pages here in the ACT.
Id say most of it has been shifted to the internet.
Try carsales, most dealers advertise there.
