Thumbs up A Good Run

Well it finally passed away this morning after a few months of not sounding to well I got up at 2 am to go to work this morning and I got the dreaded ruff.. click ..click : not to be too concerned I rolled her out the drive and she fired in to life (got to luv manualls) sorry neighbours for the big rev : so hoping I had just left the light on.. off I went only to have to push her again tonight, hate that when the new battery is still sittiing in the shed at home waiting for this day only to be laughed at by the Mrs. for wanting every last crank out of it : it was the original battery from new ..6 years 2 months and 4 days not a bad effort for these days of throw away bits and pieces..

Yeah not too bad mate, just recently had my battery replaced too. Lasted just over 5 years. Still had a bit of charge in it but was on the way out so I decided to replace the battery.

Good on you Whoosha! You even counted down to the day. Our family Explorer, owned since new, is still on its original battery. Almost 10 years now.

Wow good going on a battery to last 6 years. Battery in the XR8 lasted 10months before it died. Anyways Ford put a new 560cca maintenance free one and we'll see how long she lasts.

On a side note, it was a laugh to see how much power the Boss V8 needs to crank. RACV ute had that big jump starter machine with the engine running and tried to start it with no luck. Had to use a new battery + starter machine and only then it juuuust kicked through.

Mines just over four years and still going. Nice to know that some of the battery's last a decent length, especially seeing that they have large issues from factory with the blasted things.

The one in the EL was the original one, so it lasted 9 years and 4 months... Not a bad effort i reckon, but having both (EL and XD) die in a week was a bit spooky... considering the XD one is at least 5 years old..

I replaced the first one when it was 4 years old and then every 2 years since then. The new batteries only last just over their 2 yr warranty period and then die.

I'm more worried about the motor than the battery in my EA! Bought the car 2 years ago for $1200, was a little on need tlc side but it is only my work transport car. Lately it has more leaks(power steering and gearbox) uses more water than petrol ( don't know why, can't find leak anywhere and head gasket is fine: ). but as for the noises that come out from under the bonnet these days, factory noisy tappets and some that are too scary to look for! indicators gave up and left about 18 months ago and today speedo decided not to work for awhile (wonder if i could use that as a defence if i get done speeding, but my speedo said i was doing 0 officer). but as long as that battery keeps starting it and i don't have to spend more than $50 fixing anything on it the mighty shitebox will keep on going! Mainly because we can't afford another car at the moment. When something dies and it costs more than $50 to fix it's high hoe high hoe off to ford heaven i go for it!!! i'll keep you posted on how it's going every couple of days
