Get the Ute, Throw a swag in the back, hit the next B&S and trade in the missus. Followed by early morning circle work,

The 5 poster bullbar, whip aerials, side lights and madflaps across the whole rear end...I don't understand any of it. Spotties, however, make sense.

Maybe it was growing up with a truckie old man and with a prime mover and couple of trailers in the backyard being the norm for me, but I can't help thinking 'what a f#$ing pretender' every time I see a ute decked out in imitation. If you like trucks that much, for god's sake get a Heavy Articulated licence and go drive one. Then maybe, after a few years in the cab, you won't want to get into your comfy daily driver ute and pretend you're driving a truck.

The the answer to your problem is above.

Buy the ute, give her the Fairmont to stop her whinging and as an added bonus you don't have to put up with a crappy Commodore in your driveway.

Exactly, sedan based utes wanting to look like a truck, but cant go much further than a sedan anyway.
An F-series looks better than the 'wannabe' utes IMO

I got to keep my Falcon when we bought a new car recently. The soon-to-be-missus (god that's expensive isn't it!) refused to drive the Falcon cause it was 'too big'. Fair enough I said, we'll get a smaller more fuel efficient car for day to day. Missus didn't want to spend more than $19k. Ok I said, let's see what we can get. She wanted to get all sorts of horrible little cars, perhaps even Korean. No! I said. Back to drawing board we went. I came up with the idea of a Mazda 3 cause it had everything I wanted and I liked how it drove. No! She said, it costs too much! After a small war I managed to convince her we should spend a little more to get a much better car than the rest. After a little bit of convincing and a little compromise she agreed.

The funniest part about all this is now she loves the car to bits (even if I do 95% of the driving ).

Advice: Try and sell it to her, just like the salesman would!

Tell her that you know what’s good for her, and what’s good for you, is good for her. If she still doesn’t agree, further counselling will be required. Just be sure that this conversation takes place in a room that doesn’t have any objects that could turn into projectiles. You could lose an eye.

Good advice, just explain that a ute is a bloke thing and that she probably wouldn’t understand. A bit like “secret woman’s business” but in reverse.
Then explain to her that she’s on thin ice and there are plenty of other good looking’ chicks around WHO LIKE UTES.

After you tell her this, she will see the error of her ways, cook you a lovely dinner, provide a nice cold beer, put a comfy pillow behind you head and apologise for all of the times she’s been wrong.

You’ll have that ute in no time.

Indeed. Never listen to a girl while she's peeling oranges. I agree with this guy.

Only difference between the 3 and the focus, The 3 chews through fuel almost as quick as a 6. Great little car though.
