99 Futura Wagon (Added 23,000 kays in 2010) Has 230,000 01 SR Sedan (Added 22,000 kays in 2010). Now has 176,000 Thanks for the reminder to post a yearly update. I guess this thread will keep being mined each year, which is a good thing! LOL! Whilst there will probably be many AUvians that move onto other cars during this year, I'm certain I'll still have both my AUs this time in 2011! Seeyou all in 12 months. GK

Good idea GK
AUII: Dec 06 600,000 Dec 10 693,000 Averaging 23,000klms a year. That's pretty low considering i live 'in the sticks' (25k from cbd) and i did a 8 month stint of doing 1000k a week.

If either of my engines died, I'd hunt around for a suitable XR6 HP unit with lowish kays to replace it. A good and easy upgrade. The LPG gear would slip straight back on = more excellent and cheap motoring! Having said that, the AU engine is a very strong one and I suspect I'll have long sold both cars in the years down the track before the engine in either needed replacing. They are a great unit indeed! GK

739,000ks.White S1 Forte, x taxi. bought it at 672,000 about 18 months ago.Runs on LPG only.
I'm led to believe that the engine was rebuilt some time? just replaced trans with 2nd hand unit from the wreckers. other items replaced LH/F rotor LH/F shocker header tank Front bumper cover S2 bonnet and grille and the usual wear items, pads etc. and some missing/worn interior bits. I guess it's not bads for a 11 year old car that only cost me $600. |
