Default 99 Au front shockies

Hiya,,,just wondering if there is much involved in changing the front shockies on a series 1 Au falcon or is it best left to a mechanic.

cheers Dazza

I would also undo the swaybar. I don't think I did that last time.

Yep, you'll need to do that so you can force the lower arm down to give you enough wiggle room to wiggle the shock/strut assembly out.

I used coil spring compressors ($20 from Supercheap) which meant I only had to undo both ends of the spring/shock assembly.

I've never needed to undo the swaybar, and can still get the shock out easy enough. As long as you remove the lower shock mount bolt on both sides, then the sway bar won't hold up the arm.

Thats my personal experience anyway...
