Try L'etoile in Paddington. Fantastic food! Without a doubt the best restaurant I've been to in a long time

Quay gets a vote from me also.

Glass in the Hilton is OK as well, as is Marque up in Darlinghurst.

Got taken to Sepia the other night for my birthday. Hadn't heard of it before. http://www.sepiarestaurant.com.au/

Cafe Sydney wins for me, have eaten at aria, wildfire and tetsuyas, whilst all 3 were great, cafe Sydney has brilliant, food, great view and a good wine list.

Sepia was fine, and my wife and son thought the food was the best they ever had. I pinched one of his oysters, and they were great.

The wine list is one of the most extensive I have seen for a long time. You dont see listings for Morrocan wine very often.

Having said that, I prefer Glass at the Hilton. The oysters 6 ways are very good, and if you have a nice clean car, you can drive straight up to the front door, and you can leave it there. Makes leaving a lot easier.

Had a night out at Cafe Sydney last Saturday. Very impressed.

Spent an hour in the lounge prior to dinner sampling some beer and cocktails. The gentleman working the area was excellent.

Seated just after 9pm in the restaurant. Meal was excellent. Only downer was once we were seated, service became average.

Thanks for all the recommendations.

Ian
