Default AU boot rust

I have looked at other AU sedans in wreckers since my boot rusted out and I feel I can safely say that the fitting of the spoiler is the cause.
The holes are just drilled and the spoiler fitted without any waterproofing or silicone!!
If your boot is still ok (after all these years) then spend a few hours removing the spoiler and silicone and fibre washer it back on.

Absolutely - AU spoilers just create drag, add weight, wreck your boot struts, impede your rear vision, the fiberglass cracks and the paint peels off them. And they also invite rust.

BUT the nicer spoilers turned an ugly duckling into a good looking Swan.
