Default Federal Election, and the car industry...

This year is shaping up to be a big year for Aussie car manufacturers, with the VF now released and confirmation of continued commodore investment. In the blue corner, the new FU falcon due to be unveiled this year...

Also, we have a federal election amongst all this, and the federal grants for the car industry have come under fire.

So, will this federal election effect Fords release date of the 2014 falcon? Will we see solid confirmation of Fords plans in Australia this year? If the grants are going to be a talking point, then the companies here will no doubt have input on the subject, hoping that the grants are not cut...

Will Holdens VF plans (export, hopful increase in sales) and the confirmed future investment show these grants in a greater light?

Government co-investment is a large consideration for any volume manufacturer.

The attitude towards the local manufacturers these days is more worrying than ever. Is it any wonder Ford won't reveal their plans past 2016?

The governments are too chicken to invest, because the tax paying moron doesn't realise how important it is, and Politicians want votes. But I digress.

Hopefully they realise they need to invest in skilled jobs while we still have money to invest... before China stops baying the bills by buying our resources dirt cheap.

who knows Nikked, you can bet what one offers the other party will counter offer in someway, 2014 more of the carbon tax comes into effect, so if the incumbent govco stays in there will probably be more cost for manufacturing among other things across the board,
if the other mob get in and repeal the ct, surely they will have to either cut costs in someway to make up for less ct revenue or someone will have to pay the short fall,
how all that will pan out is anyone`s guess, dare i say the car makers might gain in one sense and lose in another. so probably not much will actually change except ..........putting it nicely ..............we will have a different goose on the tv promising us what they are going to give us and then not actually do it .

It will end in a 2 sided political stouch, lets discuss the future plans of cars without the politics of on election.
