i say bring it on,if chrysler have the nuts to bring it to australia i applaude them,the company is making some good moves and it seems to be running well at the moment so if you dont try and expand your opperations you aint doing your job properly.i hope they do bring it here and good luck to them.

I'm not sold on the looks either but good luck to them if they bring it downunder. They and others will certainly face some very stiff competition from the new Mustang next year.

Charger is pretty cool, but I prefer the Challenger though. I'd look at buying a Challenger if it was here at a decent price.
Same with Camero and Mustang.
I'd quite like a 2 door Modern Muscle car.

The original 1999 Charger concept 4-door was much better looking vehicle than what eventually emerged .. However good on Ma Mopar for having a go. Good luck to them.

Yes...because they're hammered to buggery by import duties, taxes, and our unique RHD-only laws.
In the USA, a 300C is a normal family car starting down around $20,000. The price they're forced to sell it for here means they have to be marketed as a prestige luxury car.
Same with the Jeeps...they're cheap as chips in the USA. Tell a Yank you have paid nearly $45,000 for a Wrangler with a few options, and he'll laugh at you...

The 300C's are cheaper than the equivalent Falcon or Commodore, so I don't see what your getting at there. They still have a price advantage, yet they are selling in small numbers.

To me, a 4 door Charger = FAIL.

At $66,000 plus on road costs, the 300C SRT8 is pretty close to the GT and what ever HSV floats your boat..

After a fairly large advertising campaign, the 300C really didn't sell as expected by Chrysler Aust..

Surprising really, considering how highly praised the 300c was by some it certainly hasn't translated into sales.
I like it, but I don't think I like it as much as when I first saw pics of it. Its lost some of that uniqueness the original had. Looks more euro than Yankee.

When I went to the US a couple of years ago I was excited to hear that people we were travelling with we're hiring a Charger.

I was quite disappointed to find out the "Charger" was a burgundy base model, with interior more bland than an AU Falcon, and from memory it had hubcaps!!

Anyway, the higher spec sport models are ok.

We here on this forum are only interested because its something different.

This is the point, internet reviews and opinions don't necessarily convert into sales (what buyers want)
When it comes to the crunch, I'm sure a lot of people go look and then head off to Ford or Holden for a cheaper price..

and most likely inspired by Holden throwing away SS Commodores as part of clearing VE stock.

generally its more the image of the car then the car it self that affects sales... for years people said that the Falcon was superior to the commodore, but the commodore sold a hell of a lot more then the falcon..

A great car doesn't mean great sales...

look at the top sellers list, month after month.. boring "safe" cars generally will sell more.

Myself, I personally feel the 300c is a superior vehicle to a falcon and commodore for my needs which is a luxury cruiser. and i think the charger would be a good vehicle if sold as a limited release here in Australia.

And I put my money where mouth is and decided that my first brand new car will be a 2013 Chrysler 300C luxury. I tried to have it arrive for my 26th birthday.. but its still been built at the moment, but should be finished this week and then on the boat.
