Crewing for a mates Supercharged BA at the Perth Motorplex yesterday. Cars been running high 11s no problem. Not changed anything but for some reason the car wouldn't run any better than a 13.5 yesterday. As min dial in is a 12.99 we were out 1st run. The air was really bad. But 3 seconds, no way. Now heres the rub. The meeting was abandoned as there was a power pole fire and there were no lights at the Plex. Is been rescheduled for the 2nd but nowhere is open. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas what we could do. Have not re flashed the car as the owner (not me) has no idea if the tuner has the latest tune in it or not. I suppose at this point we have nothing to loose by trying.

Is a vortech S/D 13 lb of boost running on that E85 fuel. its only just been retuned to run on the E85 before the last time out. So we don't know if the flash tune is for E85 or 98 Octane. So until BPT re open we are a bit relucent to do a flash tune

which flash box do you have, Xcal 3 can tell you what the last loaded tune was. If you were running E85 in the tank but had 98 octane map loaded, the car would be very lean, have you looked at the fuel trims?
Is the belt slipping?

Quite sure the charger belts not slipping. The flash tuner is a CAPA ford Flash two.

Watched this : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5WnM_NsOtd8
and part 2 . Very interesting explanation of fuel trims. Any thoughts on how the O2 sensor will react for forced induction? We have been informed that the re-scheduled meeting will continue from where the abandoned meeting left off. So we are knocked out anyway. No panic now, we can wait for BPT to reopen before our next meeting on the 9th Jan so we should have time to get it fixed. Appreciate the comments and suggestions anyway and learnt a bit about fuel trims. |

o2 sensor should not be affected by forced induction at all, the SC 5.0 and turbo 6's have no issues

Was thinking that as the O2 sensor monitors the exhaust gasses coming out of the engine after combustion, forced induction should make no difference if they monitored the air going in before combustion then that would be different story. The MAF sensor has been changed.

A BA does not have a MAF sensor

Cars gone back to BPT now. They are saying drastic drop in boost but we don't know why at the moment. They are looking into it.
Map.....Maf......typo, As said earlier its not my car. I didn't get, or do any of the work done on it. I just check the fuel level, tyre pressures, dial ins etc. Therefore I can only relay information given to me by the owner. |

Turns out there was a large crack in the pipe between the supercharger and throttle body. New pipework fitted its all good now. Thanks for the suggestions.
