Default heater vents

the problem i have is when u switch air direction from dash vents to windscreen vents using the air distrubution switch it will not switch over to windscreen vents for demisting all other settings work has anyone had this happen .usually when switching over u can hear the heater vents open and close redirecting air to and back .has anyone had this problem and what is causing this .thanks all

Almost certainly one of the vacuum controllers has become dislodged or failed.

is this vacuum controller easy to get to (where is it located) or is it a job for the auto elec. thanks

thanks russ. went to auto elec today and explained problem and he said because all other settings are working he says its more than likely the heater switch . you can hear the vacuum controller working when turning dash knob back and forth.its booked in for friday.do you know where this switch is located im guessing its under the glovebox somewhere

you were right heater controller switch but had to buy the whole facia panel with all the switches inc clock cig lighter and vents $80 wrecker wouldnt separate.was that a fair price?

Given the heater controller switch is a $90 part from Ford (assuming they are still available) then yes.

thanks for that now its back to auto elec for fitting im assuming that whole facia panel has to be removed inc radio , ashtray
