Default LT Focus TDCI 2007 Timing Belt Change Sydney

Hi All

Need to change the timing belt on the LT Focus TDCI.

Has anyone done this?

Suggestions for a place in Sydney?

And what costs should I expect to pay?

Thanks in advance

I was quoted about $550 from ford in Brisbane for a 2009 TDCI about a month ago, but they wanted to tack on the accessories belt to make it a $900 repair.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Nach0, that seems like a reasonable price $550, seeing as the Gates Timing belt kit including waterpump is $277 from ebay.

There is a handy video on it on ebay "ford mondeo/peugeot expert 2litre hdi timing belt replacement"

However might leave it to the experts, I will attempt to find a peugeot independent, as it is a HDI motor.

I didn’t know it was the same engine in Peugeot card, but I guess with the XR5 sharing a Volvo engine it’s quite common.
Best of luck!

Went to the local Ford dealer and was quoted $1400. Ordered a Dayco Timing belt+water pump kit on eBay for $290 and we are doing it ourselves!

I took my 2008 TDCI to an independent Pug specialist bout 800-900 from memory.
He said it was all exactly the same as a PUG 2 litre diesel.

Yes, the engine is used many other cars. I found out that same engine are installed on these cars:

Citroen C4, C5, Dispatch

Fiat Scudo

Ford Focus mk2, Ford Mondeo mk4

Peugeot 307, 308, 407, Expert

Volvo C30, S40, V50

Peugeot I think has the most contributions with making the engine and I could see it on their usage haha

Finally tackled the timing belt change last weekend. The crankshaft bolt was really hard to move, not even with a power tool. So we had to take the starter motor out to lock the flywheel in place, and take the bolt out and see how overloaded it was with Loctite! Anyways, changed everything including the water pump until midnight.
