So this is the 2nd time I have done this, a rookie mistake, & now my airbag light, code 18, is on again.
In my rush to put my new seats in, I disconnected the yellow electrical connectors under the seats, undid the torx bolts, popped the new seats in, & reconnected the yellow plugs for the pretensioners.... whoops,..... I didn't disconnect the battery first, & it threw a soft code 18 into the ute. So my hint is, assuming your wiring, plugs, & pretensioners are in good condition... In this order!...Disconnect the battery first, then your yellow connector plugs, do your work on the car, reconnect yellow plugs, then reconnect battery, all in That order. Otherwise the local garage has to clear that code to get your airbag light off. My little eBay $50 scanner cannot clear abs and airbag codes... bugger. Lesson learned.... again. Hope this helps someone. |
