Default Has anyone noticed this!

Hey all,

Has anyone noticed that when they push the button and unlock their car that the fuel pump turns on for a second?

Went out tonight, unlocked it and heard a quick buzz from the fuel pump :
So I locked and unlocked my car a few times just to see and its definately the fuel pump giving it a bit of a squirt before start up..

:
thanks,
Matt

lol! i think you might have some wiring issues... do any lights come on, on the dash ? as though the key is in the ignition, and turned to the pre-start setting ?

Nope, nothing at all..

The car just unlocks and a little fuel pump noise and all is well.. As far as I know there is no wiring issues with the car at all.
I dont know if just a standard feature or not thats why im asking lol

Oh and I should probably mention that it only does it before I start the car when its cold, after a drive it wont do it.. but if I leave it sit for a few hrs and go back out, it will do it..

well there ya go then.. maybe it's a feature on AU's. I've owned 2 EL's, 1 EB, 1 BA & 1 BF and none of them have done it, nor did my dads EA (admittedly that wasn't remote entry though). Might be a feature in AU's. Guys ?

Mine does it.There is a power source in the car that stays on for power windows and also for interior lights.Even though the lights go off in around a minute, the power turns off about 30 minutes later. This seems to trigger my pump when the central locking works.

Do you have an aftermarket immobiliser/alarm that may control the fuel pump circuit?

Matt.I know its the central locking circuit for sure mate 100%. I have an aftermarket system on my car and the trigger wire for the lock /unlock does power the pump as the dooors lock from memory.

Casper it cant be the fridge as I have not plugged it in yet.
