ok, personally I wouldn't pay over $8k for a EL/NL.

Thats close enough to 11k without taxes and what not, offer him 8k cash and see what happens.

Well obviously thats your call, I would have thought you could get atleast 4k+ for an ED XR though; depends on the condition and what a dealer will offer you.

Also, personally I dont see the point in buying a second hand car from a dealer. 99.9% of the time the car will be fine until the warranty runs out anyway.

looks nice but yer i reckon just a little bit to much. If it had a sunroof thats a different story but otherwise the price is just to high.

Well a NL/EL is perfect, eats the miles aswell. My car averages 7l/100k's on the highway aswell; we wont talk about what its like in the city.

Only regret I have is that I didn't get an 8.

Offer him 8k and get the gas done yourself with the rebate, i got a quote for my missus ef futura and its only $2000.so the way i see it is he is basically pocketing the extra $2000 that your giving him, as he will prob get the cash back some how aswell.
Shifty business the car yard folk. Clean looking car tho, gotta love how a white car comes up after a nice bath.

Shaun.

^^^ So true as these cars get older there are so many clapped out versions with huge km's and in average condition flooding the market at cheap prices that people think the good clean examples with low km's should go for that much too.

I paid 14.5k for my EFII Ghiathis time last year, it was fully optioned however, 141k, and had it just work done on the motor.

I could have got an EL Ghia for 12k with 145k but the EF had way more options and was a better colour.

Each to their own, however if its in good condition and different to the others your looking at for it, go for it.

They will drop the price buy about $2000 if you don't want the gas conversion. I looked at a car at Neale Goade automotive (where this car is) and they are obviously factoring in the price of the conversion and then claiming that you can have it for free. Just be wary of this place though, me suspects they are buying damaged cars from the auctions and repairing them on the cheap. I've had a look at a couple recently and they have all had front end knocks that were very recently repaired.
