171 new cases for Australia and 9 deaths sees the CMR rise to 1.934% although active cases dropped to 5,475. NSW recorded 1 case with the balance in Victoria.
11 new cases and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 1.321% and active cases rise to 105. The UK had 1,033 new cases and (supposedly) 2 deaths yesterday for a CMR of 12.806% although we know they are now not counting their mortalities by the WHO guidelines. Just over 45k new cases in the USA yesterday and 1,722 deaths sees CMR rise to 3.099% and active cases drop to 43.0% with the raw numbers rising again. Note that the USA is actually minus one day due to time differences. Other notable points: Australia drops below India for CMR Global cases pass 23M with the last 1M only taking 3 days again; Global deaths pass 800k with the last 50k taking 9 days; The USA completes 74M, India 33M and Bahrain 1M tests; Asia passes 6M cases; South Korea (324), Lebanon (628), Paraguay (684), Poland (903) and Ethiopia (1,829)recorded new daily highs; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day. The graphs below chart the growth in case and mortality numbers globally.

Is VIC's an acronym or an initialism?
Talking of dirty.. which state is the most foul mouthed in Australia? Add to that the capital of murder, torture, cannibalism, bodies in barrels or freezers, bizarre sex serial killings... Why would you want to go there?? |

Great read from the security guy on twitter. Australia, you're being fed lies and misinformation.

However, if you read what I actually said rather than taking umbrage at what you thought I said, you'll note that the examples I used relate to people feeling hard done by because they couldn't live their normal privileged lives. ... oh and let's not get too hung up on WW2. There are people all over the world living daily (sometimes for years) with war, hunger, abuse, wrongful imprisonment etc. etc. who would consider a few weeks of lock-down to be "sheer luxury" (to quote Monty Python's Yorkshiremen) while portions of our society are bleating endlessly about the Government taking their freedom or choosing to ignore the rules put in place for the safety of everyone. I'm going to reopen this thread but if it continues in the vein it has been then it one of two things will happen: (1) it will be closed permanently and the only updates will be the statistical ones or (2) the offenders will be removed from the Bar completely.

195 new cases for Australia and 13 deaths sees the CMR rise to 1.971% although active cases dropped to 5,358. NSW and Queensland both recorded 9 cases with the balance in Victoria. The Victorian weekly total of 1,600 cases is a further 34% drop on last week but the 106 deaths is 5 more than last week.
6 new cases and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 1.317% and active cases rise to 111. The UK had 1,288 new cases and (supposedly) 18 deaths yesterday for a CMR of 12.761% although we know they are now not counting their mortalities by the WHO guidelines. Just over 50k new cases in the USA yesterday and 1,170 deaths sees CMR fall to 3.091% and active cases remain at 43.0% with the raw numbers rising again. Note that the USA is actually minus one day due to time differences. Other notable points: The USA completes 75M, India 34M, Brazil 14M, Canada 5M and Iran 3M tests; India passes 3M cases; Tunisia (131), South Korea (332), Paraguay (719), Poland (903),Ukraine (2,328) and India (70,068) recorded new daily highs; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive day.

I wonder what's 'special' about meat processing places?
Temperature, humidity, general moisture, that sort of stuff? |

In other more important news...
The Masked Singer, which was being filmed during Stage 4 Lockdown from the Channel 10 studios at Docklands, Melbourne, has been shut down! CH10 said only one crew member has tested positive. Other sources are saying the cluster number is up to 13 people. Devastated that this 'essential service' has been shut down. |

Why couldn't the QLD Government grant this family the same "medical exemption" they granted Masked Singer judge Dannii Minogue and her son, who flew in from the USA (which requires a mandatory 14 day HOTEL quarantine period in QLD) and went straight to her GC home?? |
