It’s ominous. I’m tipping that despite all the reminders to yourself, they still forget something on their service obligations, or the car comes back with chewy on the brake pedal or something.

And Prime and the other streaming channel too. I’ve watched the first 10 minutes of so many movies and then given up. So much C-grade stuff.

I had three of mine (one hadn't/hasn't erupted) removed in the chair. A longish procedure but no pain or discomfort and I was eating spag bol for dinner that night.

I had all four out in the chair, not in the same sitting. Three came out relatively easily, but the last one ended in a condition called “dry socket”. It was took about a week and another trip to the dentist to get over that.

There is a large roundabout nearby, not particularly busy but large in 'diameter'. Less than two years ago it was completely resurfaced. Now it has been completely torn up as part of a larger redevelopment which they must have known about when it was resurfaced. There was nothing wrong with the original surface that I could see, certainly nothing that needed immediate work.

"We" funded a redevelopment of the local art gallery to the tune of several million dollars. Then a few years later, they decided to build a brand new 40 billion story eyesore that cost many more millions to develop. Very few in town wanted the bloody thing, but no, we got it anyway because it would be "good for tourism". Meanwhile, the people who actually live in this dump of a town drive around on battered roads, have poor infostructure and shoddy bin collection system no one asked for.

I remember Alinta gas tearing up the whole street outside where I worked at the time to lay some gas pipes, once they had finished and laid the new asphalt, within weeks the water authority dug up the same spot to lay water pipes?
Its just typical of government run departments that could not organise to complete the jobs needed while the hole was open, then its loaded onto our bills to cover this incompetence, that I would say happens every day this country over. |

It happens in domestic construction now, too. The “developers” can’t schedule works neatly (efficiently) and nobody will get on the hand tools when that’s actually the quickest way to a result. It’s near doubling a lot of build times.

Worked and lived in Brissy for 15 odd years before I finally saw Coronation Drive finished and not dug up for more than 3 months.
Bit like the highway way back going into Swansea NSW from Sidders, one driver swore he had never seen it not being dug up and he retired while I worked there. Wouldn't have been too bad if it was just a feeder road but it was the Pacific bloody Highway, the ol' DMR at work Last edited by tbro4123; 05-11-2023 at 10:00 AM. Reason: spelling |

Just outside one of the entrances to the local park, someone has dumped several sections of steel temporary fencing and some timber, completely covering the footpath and extending onto the road. They could have taken the steel to a scrap metal dealer and got rid of it legally. Too hard.

Computers....
Now I know how to use a computer, but not the ins and outs of how they work. I dont know which is stupider, the internet, my computer or me. So the bluetooth stopped working. Internet says make sure its turned on. Well, in the settings and on the task bar all indications of bluetooth were now missing. Next thing internet said was go to device manager and update the driver for bluetooth. Couldnt do that as there was no bluetooth device connected and it said nothing bluetooth under network devices but the wifi thing. Hmmmm, stupid bloody thing. Multiple restarts, a few choice words, even yelling at it wouldnt fix it. So i made a decision that would potentially stuff the whole thing. I deleted the wifi thing. Restarted the thing and it automatically re installed the wifi thing and bluetooth was back. Yes i had to re pair wifi and my bluetooth stuff. So it was a win in the end, but i had to work it out myself. Majority of what the internet said was 'windows 11, they all do that'. |

Have a similar issue with nearby share. Phone to phone file sharing is lightning fast, but many, many problems with consistency when initiating the transfer. Everything from restarting phones to turning the software on/off on either phone, lock/unlock pad, notifications menus,
The only answer I can give is that a gremlin troll is in the software. |

You guys are not alone, I had a crappy morning tryin to setup a work NUC.
It wouldnt recognise the 2nd screen, and while trying to find a solution my keyboard kept losing contact (its a corded keyboard). Unplug/replug, nope, Unplug/replug, now mouse is dead. They both eventually worked but I did nothing more than the above unplug/replug. The monitor? Someone happened to say Youre not trying to go hdmi to displayport are you? Well yes I am. That wont work. Well why do I have a hdmi to displayport cable? Only burnt 2.5 hours between that and trying to use my password to access drives/VPN. This is after my radiator crapping out before work. No, no, not frustrating at all. How many times a PC that worked fine yesterday now looks and works differently or not at all? When I use my hammer and put it away, I can always grab it the next day and it still works as it should.... thats what you want. |

Geez.... I hate that car dealerships no longer consider having a parts department thats open on a saturday morning to be a necessity.
Y'know? To cater for those of us who work weekday jobs and cant just bugger off across town to buy parts?
