Anybody else having Sync issues? I cant find any Titanium/Sport Focus owners having issues, so wondering if I'm just unlucky, or it's an ST specific issue we're having.

Ours has had:

1. The center screen didn't come on for 1 trip (annoyingly it was a 3 hour trip :( ). Dealer said this could have been a low voltage issue where the car did it to save power.

2. Doesn't seem to hold onto a connection to our phones for very long, and quite often you can't connect the phone until after 5-10 minutes of being in the car.

3. The current big issue, the AUX function totally dead. Either goes to a screen with no text, or if you use the voice control to say "USB" it just ignores you.

I've got it booked in to go back to the dealer next week. In the meantime I've tried master reset, pulling the fuse. Anybody have any special button combos to force a reboot or something?

Other than that, the car is great.

Other than that, the car is great.

No issues at all here. It sounds very much like a troubled unit. Even the voice recognition is decent, I have and have had many devices where this function was next to useless.

I had an issue where it told me that indexing is full, some songs might not be played - when this happened my voice commands for everything stopped working, after disconnecting the battery it was fine though.

I've never had an issue with the bluetooth connecting at all, it works great.

I haven't had any problems with the SYNC screen. I can play music on my iPhone with Bluetooth or USB, and can make and receive phone calls using Bluetooth (although at times the person at the other end of the call has trouble hearing what I'm saying... maybe I'm talking too softly or something).

I have had trouble with the screen between the speedo and tacho, though (the one that shows litres per hundred km etc - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEVpK5WujaA for the US version in MPG). At around 2000 km it started to look like it has been permanently dimmed for night driving; it is almost impossible to read the outside temperature or odometer, and the car graphic kinda shimmers. The manual doesn't say anything about brightness for this item. The instrument brightness switches only work on the gauges around the panel.

Apparently the dealer has to wait until another ST comes in, then they swap the panel, and if it gets better then they order another panel in for the donor car. I'd prefer if they just replaced the faulty part.

Well.. went looking at more XR5's today...

Bought an ST in Frozen white!

@ 2.9% it was too hard to ignore.. and i gave up trying to find that perfect 5. Either way, im stoked and cant wait to hit the old pacific with her!

here a quick pic, get her in a week as she was already on the lot!

Just went to the dealer tonight to check out my car, got a nice surprise looks like the new batch come with the black headlights

Hey guys just joined this forum today!

Super excited to say I am picking up my focus ST (tangerine) on Friday, which i got for a great deal (40k drive away) being a 2012 plate model.

Can't wait to drive her around and wear in my very new engine.

Had a question for people who are already owners, what are some good customisations you have been doing since you bought yours. Apart from tinting which is a no brainer, i was thinking of getting the wheels painted darker. Is this an expensive exercise?

Also what are the best places in WA for good tinting?

Aprt from keeping the car washed and waxed, and scotchguarding the interior, would wnyone recommend any must-do steps for surface protection on a new car?

Obviously i didnt accept the dealers 'protection package' which is a total crock i know for a fact as i have friends who work in dealerships.

Yep I'm really glad it has them, I loved them in the brochure and wasn't a fan of the chrome ones and was planing on changing them. Now I don't have too :p

That's a result mate, I'm hoping mine comes with them too! I see the silver focus in the background had them, maybe all models from now on will come std with them

The black headlights look so much better on the ST though, as they don't have the chrome accents below the windows, so it looks so much sportier. Nice one mate!

Yep I was even more excited when I saw them! That's a fiesta In the back ground, I didn't get a chance too look at the others that came in they got a fair few in. But hopefully they are all like that they are a lot tougher looking with them

Woohoo, so your's is a late 2012 build with black surrounds? Should mean the 2013 comes with the black lights as well.

Has anyone ordered a 2013 build? If so, what time frame have you been given for delivery?

Yeah and rightfully so, may even devalue the cars with the chrome headlights too...

Meh i dont hate them, quite like the DRL's.

If it gets to the point where they really bug me il just throw in some black housed focus titanium headlights.

Have you considered ordering a 2013 Shelby Focus ST for xtra $$$$$. Limited to 500 per year and pics show dark headlights.

I'm happy with my TS with the chrome headlights. Maybe it will increase the value as they wiil become rare.

2.9% rate > 2013 model (although i hear there were some 2013s that may be delievered with this offer). Can live without the black head lights for now
