He is no longer "the man" as 2024 will be his last season in F1.

Piastri looking promising, could be a world champ if he stays in the right car during his career.

The guy is the wholesome class clown, but is actually a decent person as well. Didn't particularly like his chopping and changing teams in the last few years, he just went from team to team to team giving mid performances everywhere then blaming the cars, when is it you're just past it? |

McLaren also saw him as a silver bullet for their problems. Now look at them. Winning races once they figured their cars out. All too late for Danny though. Here's to hoping Mercedes gives him a lifeline in their car. That would be really cool. They seem to be coming to terms with their new car finally though the weekend didn't go that great. He just needs to be in a A team car. He just hasnt had that chance for too long now.

They may have 'figured their cars out' but even throughout last year when they were starting to show some pace, Lando said he had to adapt to the car, that the traits that made Danny struggle were still basically there. This isn't something Danny was ever able to do, and that's squarely on him.
If he cant drive outside of a very small operating window, that makes him too big a risk. Merc would be nuts to take the risk. |
