My DC LTD is digital. I prefer dials guages though. I will be convering the cluster to a dial type, down side it I loose the low klm reading :(

I do like the digital/bar tacho on my XF though.

Yes I'm a bit partial to a nice clearly marked gauge too, a mate of mine years ago had an aftermarket digital tacho , the numbers were constantly bouncing around, the bloody thing was annoying.

A dull odometre in an EF/EL is due to a blown globe. Replace that and you're back in business.

I always thought of digital speedos as 80's try-hard items as well. I had one in my EB Fairmont, and while the novelty of it was ok, it was far from sporty...

I think the ideal setup is both like in the FG Falcon.

I personally prefer needle and dial. I find the digital ones distracting. Cheers and thanks for the interesting thread.

Speedo is fine digital; there is a number in the corner of the GPS screen. tacho is a different thing I had a digital tacho and rev limiter in a fiat x1/9 and it was useless you can't read the numbers fast enough to make the gear change before the limiter cuts in.

The setup in the FG is ideal, IMHO. I looked at the digital readout, and it was such a license saver. I had a Mondeo Titanium for a week, and got a fine due to the speedo being hard to read. The AU2 I have now is OK, but I wish it had a digital readout :(

Digital in the boosted FG's can not keep up with the acceleration.

A quick glance can tell you that you are close to the limit with the analogue. You have to actually "read" the digital.

I've run with both in my BA, and to be honest, the needles are more intuitive after all these years because I can glance and see where the needle is, as opposed to having to read and comprehend the number being displayed.

Does the AU have a Police Mode? I swear I've read before that it does.
