Come to the Hunter Valley. You can get flights direct from Melbourne to Newcastle which only takes an hour and half. Then its a 40 minute drive to the wineries etc. Its about 21 deg during the day at the moment!
There are some great sights and some very s****y hotels to stay in. Much better than needing 2 flights in each direction, the waits in between and spending 5 hrs each way in the air... You;ll have much more time for just you two to relax!

somewhere out of victoria. Not saying its bad, just there is no point going somewhere like ballarat where you can fly to somewhere different.
