To whoever has/had the 2232550, how much did it cost you?
I like the sound of it.

Ah. Now I see.
I did realise that beforehand, and the chip is probably due for a retune anyway.

ideally once it is tuned it should be right, having said that, it may need adjustment between winter and summer months. after u have gone through each season it should be fine.
thats the beaty about the haltechs, it accounts for air temp differentces as well, orany aftermarket ecu for that matter

okay guys, today was the day i put my cam in.. all was going well until i hit the timing chain tension part. i couldn't really figure it out my self so i called on a mate who is a mech at ford. he explained to me i could do it without the tool but he doesn't recommend it so he will bring it home from work next friday night so i can do it on saturday..
i was so annoyed.. typical thing for ford to do...put parts that can only be worked on by them

it's just a long allen key that and biro tube is all u really need to lock and unlock the tensioner.
To be honest once you have got the vernier gear installed then remove and replacing a cam is easy and you don't have to touch the tensioner just be bloody careful and keep the cam chain and sprocket lifted up as you swap the cams. Takes two people who understand thats all. |

well first of all i am a mechanic, and i do understand and the allen key doesn't do it and the tool sets a certain tension on it.
i dont wanna do it dodge, i want to do it correctly

i zip tied the chain to the cover to keep the tension up when i reasmebled the head, worked like a treat. i also replaced the tension guides (chain guides) while i was at it. $15 dollar part that wears out after 150thou. one piece operation.

yeah i had the chain zip tied to the cam gear ready to slacken the tension off but to be done properly you really need the tool from ford

baboon au if you are not fitting an a justable cam gear .there is no need to take out the chain tensioner .you just need another set of hands to hold the cam gear up tight while you remove th e cam and slot the new one in .this is what we did when i slotted my last cam in .it took no time at all not having to dick around pull all those bolts out of the power steer pump and fildle with the tensioner.

Reason being is that it's listed under EA-EL, which have rocker ratios of 2:1. AU is 1.8:1. Also, it's not going to fit in the AU head...

STD AU
Cam Timing In: 181 Exh197 Advertised Dur: In: 233 Exh: 246 Cam Lift In:.247 Exh .269 Lobe centre: 119 Cam Tech Cam Timing in: 20/60 Exh: 60/20 (i am not sure how to read this) Advertised Dur in:260 Exh: 260 ( a fair bit more duration) Cam Lift in: 265" Exh:265" (more lift in intake, about same on exhaust) lope sep : 110 Those cam specs look like they are nicely suitable for a turbo or SC application, would require overlap timings ... and as mentioned above check for rocker ratio as well

He estimates with exhaust and headers and cam 20% more power.??? But actually i was hoping for a little more then that ?? A little stuck at the moment on choices?? |

If you get it edited/chipped, you'll find around 8% (going on mine) total power gain on average across the range.
