I've only ever driven a few autos, besides driving peoples cars around the carpark into the workshop at slow speeds. I drove this Hyundai Tiburon up to a customer with a 4sp auto and it was horrible, always in the wrong gear and it was very slow to kick down, it took a good 2 or 3 seconds to realise it should be kicking down.
Then I drove a new "Civic Sport Auto", same thing. Then match the new Accord Euro with an auto and its horrible compared to the manual, so sluggish. The only one I quite liked was the new Civic Hybrid, it seemed to read your mind what you wanted to do. So I don't know much about Autos and how they drive except for Honda's ones, and they all suck. If you don't really care how a car performs, then who cares, but unfortunately I do haha. Last edited by Franco Cozzo; 17-08-2010 at 12:06 PM. |

IMO, manual makes it a more fun drive, as you're more involved in the process (and if that makes me a "boy racer", so be it). Auto is easier in stop-start traffic. So I guess it depends on what sort of driving/driving style.

Manual.
So dissapointed in driving an Auto ATM (mind you i have access to a couple of manuals), if the SR was manual car would be very very good.

Definitely manual all the way. I love being in control of the car. Can't wait til next week when the AUTO is gone from the XR6, to be replaced with a manual.
3 years of driving an auto is WAAAAY too long. And it means the wife will actually drive the car again ![]()

Horses for courses.
Manuals are great if you really enjoy "driving" but are a huge pain in the bum when negotiating stop start peak hour traffic. They are also a huge problem if your wife does not like driving manuals. All of my FPVs and my datto are manuals but if I buy a new coyote it will be auto. |
