Yes, it's a BA shifter adapted to fit the E series "stalk", and the mechanism inside reversed so that pushing the button activates by pressing on the stalk (the BA one normally pulls up the stalk), meaning all the detentes work, so you need to press the button to P-R, R-N, D-N, R-P & N-R & 2-1. One of the most small, challenging and yet rewarding mods I've ever done, because I had to engineer around an @r5e-about mechanism (thanks to Rollin for the inspiration, sort of).
good work any chance you could send me details of how this is done? thanks

No - you're right. I was going off memory after watching the cricket all night last night. It goes freely between R-N-D, but needs a button click for D-N.

I did it between 2am and 7am this morning - I have zero chance of remembering what I did.

Seriously, it's hard to explain without showing, and I didn't take any pictures. I'll see if I can get a hold of a BA shifter (in tact one) and take some pics of the shaft to show what needs to be modified. Give me a week or so.

Yeh, it was. Sorry to go off topic!

Has anyone who is running a BA box in their AU found any improvement using a K&N or BMC filter?

only response and noise, and fuel economy up to 750 (most ever done) city/highway driving on one standard tank, bit over 930kms including the DTE on one tank only highway driving though and some gunning it...thats the only mod ever done to my car rest is standard...now it just gets 500ish 550kms to one tank
