Cleaning the windows. I'd rather sit in a dentist's chair for the equivalent time.

I've stripped them down to the last nut and bolt and rebuilt, refurbished & reconditioned them, and for the most part enjoyed every bit of it, even the fiddly bits....

....but i detest washing & cleaning them.....

Had to change the drive belt tensioner on the wife's Outlander a couple of weeks ago. luckily it collapsed in the driveway and not while she was out somewhere. it lost the sideways integrity by a couple of degrees just enough for the belt to slip off and keep falling off when put back on.

Real pia changing it out , somehow managed to lose the same bolt twice in the nether regions of the engine .luckily i had some spares, i also had to pay the local "I want it now price" instead of waiting a week to get it from the Bay.

At least my knuckles have healed now.

I hate cleaning glass too, especial the inside of the back window of the Mustang.

White fleet, I've given up washing anything over winter, the roads and quarries are always smeared with water and mud down here atm.
Worst still they're building a new mega solar farm locally and the old hwy is covered with the crap.
Did I mention clearing ice from the windscreen.

I did buy several ice scraper, rubber squeegee thingo's for every one of them.
Yeah, real smart adding boiling water to an iced window.

.:4:. At -4 deg adding water just makes it thicken the ice up more.

if iced, i always turn the front hot air demister/air vents onto the windscreen, as the car is warming up. it doesn,t take much to loosen the ice.

I don't sit in motels idling my car or trucks, I clear the ice get in start er up and leave. Doesn't disturb other people.

I did that too until two sooks in the court got the ****s up about the Lebonator idling in the driveway for 15 minutes at 4:45AM

All the other cars can idle away no problems, but the V8 one upsets people

I tried a sheet once, it was a thick frost, went to take it off, at first it didn't budge, when it did move, it was so bl**dy heavy dragging it across the bonnet with a nice curve shape.

Working on any dash on any car. I mean pulling them apart, working on them and then putting them back together. Even worse, having to work underneath the dash.

I hate pulling apart plastic trim in general. Never quite sure if it's just clipped together and just needs a bit more force to unclip, or if there's a hidden fastener somewhere. Always a gamble as to whether I snap a piece of brittle hidden plastic somewhere.

I dislike 'small' jobs that requires a ridiculous amount of dismantling, for example: Peugeot 308 petrol turbo requires carbon removal by walnut blasting the intake approx. every 30k, and because it is a Peugeot (not a Mini or BMW with the same engine).. it requires to drop the entire engine out of the car, in order to gain access to the inlet manifold.
If it was a good design it shouldn't have needed walnut blasting in the first place!

I dislike allen heads bolts, they are easy to round. (After having to drill out a few, I understand why torx was invented to improve the grip).

It's not fun when bolts are corroded and snap. Not the biggest problem in Australia, but much worse in Europe when the roads are salted in the winter.

It's not fun with glazed brake rotors. I have too many cars, or drive them too little, so I end up replacing more brake rotors due to glazing than replacing them for wear. Maybe I can get some more aggressive brake pads that sort my low usage driving?

Oil leak on the rear crankshaft seal is not fun. If you try to get an old bomb roadworthy, that's the last news you need, to find that it drips oil from the bellhousing.. That's another example of the first thing I mentioned above, small part, simple fix, but a lot of work.

over the years ive broken so many trim pieces , that now don't touch a trim piece until i've read the manual telling me where the clips are.

Ever worked on a VE Commodore? Trim clips were stronger than the trim supports itself and that was when they were new off the production line

Every winter for about 15 years, my old man's XC was parked in the driveway exposed to the weather. If the window was iced in the early morning, he would boil the kettle then pour it over the window. Never had a broken/cracked window. Wouldn't do it myself hahaha!

I used to near on do everything needed back in the day.....
Anything electric I'm crap at barring globe changes which is a PIA at times, WTF a engineer decided to place a battery in front of getting to globes, what a you know what.
Got real good a chnging uni joints and diffs for I blew quite a few of them, LOL's at scrapping out the bits and pieces from the diff centre but man that diff oil used to stink and stay in your hands for ages no matter how many times you scrubbed with good ol solvol and pumas rock.
I only do re pad changes now if at all - time is not as it used to be I supply parts to my Mechanic mate and wait for the call pick up when ready
My time with the cars is, cleaning and driving them.
