The bold part is just plan wrong for the Australia market. It is against the law to have cars sliding in adds, they get pull or never put up to start with!!

Still, I reckon that was a great advert. The GT is about Aussie heritage and blowing the opposition away with grunt and grace.

Who knows what they were up to at calder. Maybe performance testing (outside of fords proving ground) or something similar?

Needs way more Hooning.
If I wanted to see cars driving I would go outside.

The engine sounds wicked, But seriously... Even this ad from Holden from about a hundred years ago was better more exiting.

Or even the other one with the crop circles.

If memory serves me correct, The old Ford Ads on salt lake and the one with all the police following them where better.

Looks good, I would have had the current GT without stripes though, they just look more classier without. Less boy racer.
Could focus in on the badge if they wanted to emphasise the heritage.

I like it. I don't love it because I'm such a car nerd like many others on here i see a living legend A Moffat driving like a nana on a closed road. Repetition is very important for advertising to work. Basically FPV need to launch 3 or 4 adds per annum with variation on the same message. each add itself does not matter. When was the last really good Toyota add? Consistency of message way more important.

Well then you need a new government. Most car adds shown in the US or Europe are not allowed on our TV's as the promote speed, hooning, crashes, destruction and the end of civilisation as we know it.

This is a major challenge for FPV, HSV, Porsche etc who vehicle primary focus is performance, and performance really means speed.

Great ad. The only problem is the sound quality on the FG. Is it just me or is there major distortion there?

but the point is, it was aired. nothing to stop ford doing the same, make another internet ad, but flick it to tv for a few isolated runs. if it gets picked up its pulled, but generates lots of talking about the ad, and the product.

Viral videos are massive, once something is banned how many people flock to youtube to see what all the fuss was about. I still think this ad is brilliant http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMoyb5hEYEs

That ad is fantastic and would last about 2 seconds before some lefty greenie cafe cultured latte sipping prius driving inner city dwelling do gooder lodges a complaint. Perhaps air a disclaimer that no baby seals died during the production of this ad. The nanny state rules.

One of my favourite ads is from around 10 years ago advertising a Holden SS or HSV. Middle aged dude says he's now paid off the house, got the kids through school and grown up and things are sweet. He ponders what to do with the spare cash. Put it into superannuation?? "Nah, stuff that". He jumps into a brand new SS and takes off down the road. The only thing missing was a pair of black strips burned into the road.

Because if they do anything like that here the greenies and limp wristed get in a flap. all it takes is one to start screaming and it's 1972 all over again.

with both Holden and Ford dependent on govt hand outs at the moment, they won't rock the boat.

"Retrenched from FPV on May 28th"

Thats 100% official then!

If i was him i would be heading straight to Clayton, HSV with all the secrets, should be able to get a job there with no issues [unless he has been up to some sort of trouble at FPV?]

Better than being unemployed and when looking for work it's always handy to have something that no one else has that your prospective employer could use.

I thought that was obvious?

He knows everybody and everything in the Aussie auto industry, they are all whores, look at car designers, swap from one brand to the next, he wont be a chef or cleaner, he will be staying in the auto industry.

Could end up at the other Clayton joint, Nissan, seeing they are increasing its motorsports commitment and no doubt looking at special edition road/production models for the future.

He would be THE most valuable to HSV, he knows what FPV will be doing for the next few years or more, he would have written the blueprint

And the point is FPV dont have unless money to make an add that only gets aired 3-4 times.. Its bad management & wastes profits for no gain!!!

Also, I perosnaly dont think that is a way to run a business in terms of running a add you know breaks the rules & hope you dont get court..

He would have at least a 12 month anti-competition clause in his contract I'd say.
